Our wine is a honest reflection of the features of our terroir and the singularity of each vintage.
The five hectars of our vineyard are, for the most part, sloping: this helps the natural air flow and soil drainage. The white varieties face east so they can preserve their acidity with the morning light and the red ones face west so they can reach perfect ripening, absorbing the light until sunset. The majority of the work in the vineyard is done by hand and under organic management. We totally avoid using pesticides, chemical fertilizers or herbicides.
Our vineyard is characterized by a very high density of plants (7800/hectar). This creates a natural competition between the roots of the vines that, instead of spreading horizontally, tend to develop towards the depth of the soil. This way the roots cross different layers of the ground and gain precious nourishment from them. This affects the complexity of the wines and their length.
To improve the soil fertility we do not use chemical products, but we rely on the green manure: we plant a variety of grass species and legumes which grow until blooming. This procedure helps nourishing the soil and attracting bees, our pollinators, and ladybirds which fight the harmful bugs.
