The territory
Calalta is located on the foothills right at the border between the provinces of Vicenza and Treviso, in the town of Mussolente.
We are at the foot of Monte Grappa on the hills that, developing East, create the “colli asolani”.
Near Calalta stands Bassano del Grappa, a lovely town which is famous for its wooden bridge on the Brenta River.
The Cellar
Only the healthiest grapes make it to the cellar: the bunches are carefully selected by hand during harvest, then they are checked again with the help of a sorting table.
The fermentations happen with the help of indigenous yeasts only, without any added product. If necessary we use a refrigeration system to control the temperature of the fermenting masses in order to preserve their aromatic profiles.

The wines age in tanks made of a variety of different materials: stainless steel, cement, wood, ceramic amphora. They are bottled without clarification or filtration.
Before bottling we usually add a small amount of sulphites to make sure the wine is stable. This is the only additive we use.
Our production, is approximately 20000 bottles per year.
Making wine without the help of additives or invasive techniques can be hard and risky, but we are convinced it is the only way to produce honest wines with a strong personality.
